Ensky ArtCrystal Jigsaw Puzzles

ArtCrystal pieces are not cardboard. They are cut from clear plastic, so the finished puzzle behaves like a pane of stained glass — hold it to a window and the artwork lights up from behind. The pieces click rather than wedge, which makes the small 126-piece sets far harder than their count suggests.

We print these in counts from 126 up to 1000 and cut frames to the same footprints. Studio Ghibli art dominates the line, and the design is chosen for it: thin colour fields and strong line work read beautifully through a transparent piece. Every set below lists the count; the frames sit at the end of the page.

ArtCrystal and the anime jigsaw puzzle

ArtCrystal is our clear-plastic anime jigsaw puzzle. The pieces are moulded rather than cut from card, they click rather than press, and the finished panel is rigid enough to hold up to a window — which is the point, because light is what makes the colors read. An anime jigsaw puzzle printed on card goes on a table; this one goes on glass.

The range runs from 126-piece petit panels about the size of a postcard up to 1000-piece boards. Piece count is a poor guide to difficulty here: transparent plastic hides the picture at low angles, so assembling a 300-piece ArtCrystal takes most people longer than a 500-piece card puzzle. That is not a flaw. It is why people who have finished every anime puzzle in the house come back to this line.

What we print is the artwork we hold a licence to print: Ghibli scenery from My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle, then Pokémon, One Piece, Kirby and Sanrio. Ghibli panels lean on painted backgrounds, so the artistry survives the plastic better than flat cel art does. One Piece and Dragon Ball give you a battle; Pokémon reads as an adventure; My Hero Academia puts a hero at full height.

Japanese shops shelve these as display pieces rather than puzzles, which is fair — ours mostly end up stuck to a window and left there. They make a good gift for a fan who already owns the obvious jigsaw puzzles of their favorite series, and a stunning one for anybody who has never seen a puzzle lit from behind. Each entry gives the piece count, the finished size and the world the artwork comes from, so the fun starts with no surprises.

Every panel is crafted and printed by us in Japan to the same high-quality standard as our card puzzles, with the design approved by the studio before a sheet runs. A jigsaw is not a game with players and a scoreboard; what it gives back is an hour of quiet and a finished thing you can hang. The rest of the anime puzzles collection is linked at the foot of this page.

One more thing about the colors. Because the plastic is clear, a stunning panel can look flat on a table and only comes alive on glass — judge it against a window, not a cloth. The artistry in a Ghibli sky is the obvious case; the battle panels and the Pokémon adventure boards gain less from the light. Fans who already own the card version of a favorite picture buy the ArtCrystal of the same scene anyway, which tells you something. As a gift it is the safest of our anime puzzles: no table is needed, assembling is the whole game, two players can share one board, and the finished design hangs itself. Each panel is crafted in Japan to a high-quality standard, Japanese piece sizes keep the fun in the fit rather than the force, and every world we print is listed by series in the collection below.

About artcrystal puzzles

Are ArtCrystal pieces really transparent?

Yes. They are moulded from clear plastic with the artwork printed on one face, so light passes through the finished panel.

Is a 126-piece ArtCrystal set easy?

Not especially. The pieces are small, uniformly shiny and give you much less edge feedback than card, so a 126-piece crystal set lands closer to a 300-piece cardboard one.

Can I frame a finished ArtCrystal puzzle?

That is what most builders do. We cut frames to the same panel sizes, and a few are listed here beside the puzzles themselves.
